Chidimma Adetshina emerges first runner-up at Miss Universe 2024

Nigeria’s reigning Miss Universe, Chidimma Adetshina, has made history as the first runner-up at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant, held in Mexico City.

The crown went to Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, who captivated the audience in a dazzling finale to claim the prestigious title.

Theilvig and Adetshina were joined in the top 12 by contestants from Bolivia, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Russia, Chile, Thailand, Canada, and Peru.

Adetshina stood out throughout the competition for her eloquence and poise, particularly her compelling responses on diversity and respect for humanity.

Her journey was remarkable, advancing from the top 30 to the top five, and ultimately earning a spot as one of the final two contenders for the crown.

Although she delivered an exceptional performance, Theilvig claimed the title, succeeding Miss Universe 2023, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua.
