CPPM commends Tinubu’s economic reforms at third anniversary

The Committee for the Protection of People’s Mandate (CPPM) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his third year in office, commending his administration for what it described as “courageous and tough economic re-engineering” aimed at securing a better future for Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Friday and signed by its Executive Director, Nelson Ekujumi, the group said President Tinubu assumed office during one of the most difficult periods in Nigeria’s history, marked by deep fiscal and structural challenges.
According to the group, the administration’s bold reforms, though painful, have given Nigerians hope for better days ahead.
CPPM specifically praised key policy decisions such as the removal of fuel subsidy, unification of the foreign exchange market, and the introduction of student loan access, describing them as difficult but necessary measures to block leakages and create fiscal space for development.
“These bold and tough economic reforms by President Bola Tinubu secure the future far above short-term comfort, notwithstanding their politicisation from expected quarters,” the statement read.
The organisation, however, urged the Federal Government to consolidate on the reforms to ensure that the benefits are felt more directly in the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
It highlighted several achievements recorded in the last three years, including increased government revenue, reduced deficit financing, and improved infrastructure funding.
The group listed projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Highway, Benin-Ore Expressway, Kaduna-Lokoja Highway, airport terminal upgrades, seaport reconstruction, NELFUND, and CREDICORP as evidence of the administration’s economic reset agenda.
