Ethnic, religious differences should not divide Nigerians, Tinubu says

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to rise above ethnic, religious and cultural differences, saying the country’s diversity should serve as a source of strength rather than division.

Tinubu made the call on Sunday during a dinner with members of his delegation in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The President prayed for Almighty Allah to transform Nigeria’s diversity into prosperity, unity, peace and sustainable development for the benefit of all citizens.

“May Almighty Allah bless Nigeria, convert our diversity into prosperity as a country,” he said.

He urged Nigerians of different faiths and backgrounds to embrace mutual understanding, peaceful coexistence and a shared commitment to national development.

Tinubu also prayed for lasting peace and harmony in the country, asking Allah to grant the nation’s leaders the wisdom, courage and foresight to improve the living conditions of Nigerians.

He further sought divine guidance and protection for Nigerians at home and abroad, while calling for stronger bonds of brotherhood, patriotism, compassion and service to the nation.

The President said Nigeria’s human and natural resources, coupled with the talents, creativity and enterprise of its diverse population, provided a strong foundation for building an inclusive and prosperous nation.

Chairman of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, who spoke at the dinner, said the gathering provided an opportunity for the delegation to pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity and prosperity.

He said it was the third dinner hosted by Tinubu since the President arrived in Makkah, adding that the business community would continue to support his administration.

“We will continue to support His Excellency in whatever capacity we can and definitely, as you all know, Mr President is very passionate about the country. He’s working very hard, and we’ll continue to support him,” Rabiu said.
