Drama as police find allegedly missing Ondo woman in hotel with man

A 42-year-old married woman earlier declared missing in Ilara-Mokin area of Ondo State has been found in a hotel with a man in Ugbe-Akoko area of the Akoko North-East Local Government.

The woman, identified as Funke, was declared missing after she allegedly left her residence without informing her husband or family members, triggering panic within the community, with fears initially suggesting a possible abduction.

Residents, alongside community leaders took to social media to circulate her photographs in a bid to locate her.

Her husband was also said to have raised an alarm, prompting a search effort by residents and security agencies.

Upon investigation, it was later gathered that she travelled about 124 kilometres from Ilara-Mokin to Ugbe-Akoko, a journey estimated at nearly three hours.

Subsequently, security operatives traced her to a hotel in the community, where she was found with a 55-year-old man identified as  Alaba.

Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, said the report was initially treated as a suspected case of abduction, however, recent findings reveal her commute was voluntary, adding that the woman is now in protective custody while investigations continue.
