Easter: Makinde calls for prayers

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has urged Christians across the country to intercede for Nigeria and its leaders during the Easter celebration.

In his message to felicitate with Christians on this year’s Easter celebration, Governor Makinde emphasized the need for continuous prayers for the nation and its leadership.

The governor noted that Christians should seize the opportunity of Easter—which marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ—to offer much-needed prayers for Nigeria.

He further encouraged the Christian faithful to imbibe the lessons of Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross and His resurrection.

“I exhort my Christian brethren to use this occasion to intercede for our country and its leaders across the board. I also urge them to imbibe and put into practice the profound lessons learned from this sacred occasion.

“I felicitate with Christians across Oyo State and the country on witnessing the Easter festivities. In Christ’s death and resurrection, we find powerful messages of love, sacrifice, and hope for humanity. We must also embrace the values of prayer and forgiveness.”
