The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, on Monday met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Yemi Cardoso, to deepen the alignment between fiscal and monetary policies as Nigeria’s inflation rate shows signs of easing.

The meeting, held in Abuja, comes on the heels of the National Bureau of Statistics’ recent report indicating that headline inflation moderated to 22.97% in May 2025.

According to a statement signed by Mohammed Manga, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Finance, discussions between Edun and Cardoso focused on sustaining and accelerating this positive trend to stabilize prices, boost investor confidence, and promote private sector-led economic growth.
