Ekiti APC establishes reconciliation panel to foster unity after primaries

The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has constituted a reconciliation committee to address grievances arising from its recent National and State Assembly primaries in a bid to strengthen unity ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

According to the party, the move was aimed at resolving disputes generated by the primary election process and ensuring cohesion among members as preparations intensify for the June 20 governorship poll.

In a statement issued by the state APC Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, the committee is scheduled to be inaugurated on Monday at the party’s secretariat in Ajilosun, Ado-Ekiti.

Heading the committee is former Governor Segun Oni. He will be assisted by former deputy governors Modupe Adelabu and Abiodun Aluko. Other members include Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Stephen Aribasoye, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, Mrs Ronke Okusanya and Akinwale Adeyeye, who will serve as secretary.

The party said the committee had been mandated to engage stakeholders across the state, address concerns raised after the primaries and promote harmony among members.

Speaking on the initiative, the APC State Chairman, Olusola Elesin, said unity remained critical to the party’s electoral success, stressing that every member had a role to play in its growth and future.

He noted that the reconciliation exercise would provide an avenue for aggrieved members to express their concerns while contributing to efforts aimed at strengthening internal cohesion.

Elesin further expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to restore trust among party stakeholders, adding that the APC remained committed to inclusiveness and internal democracy as it positions itself for victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
