Ekiti PDP governorship candidate Wole Oloyede unveils 10-point reform blueprint

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate for the June 20, 2026 election in Ekiti State, Wole Oluyede, has unveiled a 10-point development agenda aimed at overhauling governance and repositioning the state’s economy and social systems.
Presenting the policy framework titled “My Contract with Ekiti,” Oluyede described it as a reform-driven plan designed to make the state more productive, inclusive and economically competitive.
In a statement released in Ado Ekiti on Friday, the PDP candidate said the agenda focuses on restructuring key sectors of development, strengthening public services and expanding opportunities for residents across the state.
He further noted that the programme places emphasis on agriculture, job creation, healthcare reform, infrastructure renewal, digital economy, taxation reforms, local government autonomy, women inclusion and youth empowerment as core pillars of his proposed administration.
Oluyede also explained that agriculture would be repositioned through mechanised farming, improved extension services and modern training systems for farmers, aimed at boosting productivity and reducing post-harvest losses across the state.
He equally proposed the establishment of storage facilities, including silos, improved market access for farmers and the revival of cooperative societies to strengthen rural financing and agricultural output.
On economic development, the PDP candidate said his administration would prioritise investment attraction, support for small businesses and entrepreneurship, stressing that growth must be driven by production rather than excessive taxation.
He also pledged reforms in infrastructure, healthcare and education, including road rehabilitation, improved electricity and water systems, a contributory health insurance scheme, vocational training centres, and digital literacy integration to prepare young people for a technology-driven economy.
