FG reassigns Pro-Chancellors of two federal universities

The Federal Government has approved the transfer of two Pro-Chancellors between federal universities as part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening transparency and governance in Nigeria’s higher education system.

In a statement issued on Monday, April 28, 2025, the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, announced that Retired Colonel Abdulmuminu Aminu, Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, has been reassigned to the Federal University, Kebbi.

Likewise, His Excellency Ali Abubakar Jatau, Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, will now serve as the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma. The transfers take immediate effect.

Dr. Alausa explained that the move is part of broader efforts to promote fairness, meritocracy, and high standards across the nation’s universities.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for learning and upholding the integrity of the education system.

The Ministry also expressed appreciation to both Pro-Chancellors for their dedication to advancing the country’s educational development.
