The Federal University of Technology, Akure Teaching Hospital has pledged to improve healthcare services in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Olusegun Ojo, gave the assurance on Wednesday in Akure during the inauguration of substantive heads of departments and units of the hospital.

Ojo said the hospital’s mandate was to provide quality and affordable healthcare following its transition to a Federal Government-owned teaching hospital.

He explained that only qualified staff who meet the conditions outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal and Ondo State governments would be absorbed.

He added that those yet to be captured would be included during a forthcoming biometric mop-up exercise.

In his remarks, the CMD commended Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for supporting the hospital through salary payments and other interventions since its establishment.

He also appealed for public understanding and support, noting that the hospital was addressing operational challenges while striving to improve service delivery.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is the Federal Government’s policy framework focused on driving economic growth, improving infrastructure, strengthening security, expanding access to education and healthcare, creating jobs, reducing poverty and promoting inclusive development across Nigeria.
