The ceremony marked the commissioning of Phase 1, Section 1 of the project — a 30-kilometre, six-lane dual carriageway — stretching from the Lekki-Ajah axis towards the Jakande Estate area. The coastal highway is envisioned to eventually span 750 kilometres, linking Lagos to Calabar and significantly boosting trade, tourism, and regional connectivity along Nigeria’s southern corridor.
