KAB Foundation offers free medical care to 500 Lagos Assembly workers
The Kassim Alli-Balogun (KAB) Foundation, in partnership with the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Lagos State Branch, has provided free medical services to more than 500 staff and legislative aides of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the House of Assembly Service Commission.
The outreach, held at the Lateef Jakande Auditorium as part of activities marking PASAN Week, offered beneficiaries Hepatitis B, blood sugar and blood pressure screening, eye examinations, cervical, kidney and prostate checks, medical consultations, physiotherapy and dental care.
Other services included malaria treatment and professional teeth scaling, while 100 pairs of prescription glasses were distributed to staff who required them.
A team of 30 doctors and other healthcare professionals led by the Executive Director and Founder of Atti Theresa Foundation, Dr. Eniye Aprezi, delivered the services.
The Clerk of the Assembly, Mrs. Adenike Oshinowo, represented by the Deputy Clerk, Mr. Ebenezer Olaosebikan, commended the KAB Foundation and PASAN for prioritising workers’ health and welfare.
She conveyed the goodwill of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, the Principal Officers, members and management of the Assembly, and urged staff to sustain collaboration and commitment to excellence.
PASAN Chairman, Lagos State Branch, Mr. Babatunde Ogunlana, thanked the KAB Foundation for sponsoring the outreach and supporting parliamentary workers’ welfare.
Ogunlana assured workers that PASAN would continue to pursue programmes aimed at improving their welfare and professional wellbeing.
The KAB Foundation said the initiative was part of its broader commitment to supporting communities through interventions in healthcare, education, youth development and women empowerment.
