Lagos sports commission partners real estate sector on sports development

The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) has expressed its readiness to establish a long-term strategic partnership with the organisers of the Real Estate Games to promote sports development and strengthen public-private sector collaboration.
The Director-General of LSSC, Honourable Lekan Fatodu, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the commission by the convener of the Games, Amuda Marygold.
Fatodu said the partnership would begin with the 2026 edition of the Games, scheduled to hold at the University of Lagos Sports Complex from Oct. 30.
He described the competition as a corporate social responsibility initiative designed to promote sports development, corporate engagement and community building within the real estate sector.
According to him, the 2026 edition will bring together real estate companies from across the country for sporting competitions, while providing opportunities for networking, entertainment and public participation, following previous editions in Lagos and Abuja.
Fatodu commended Marygold for using sports to promote corporate social responsibility, noting that the real estate sector remained one of Lagos State’s most vibrant and impactful industries. He assured the organisers of the commission’s institutional support.
“This is not a one-off engagement; we are ready for the long run. The Lagos State Sports Commission will deploy all necessary institutional support to ensure this event is a resounding success,” he said.
Marygold said the Games was established to promote collaboration, staff wellness, networking and business relationships between real estate practitioners and the public, adding that the commission’s backing would help deliver a bigger, more structured event.
