Layi Wasabi reflects on journey from ‘lawbreaker’ to Lawyer at TEDx Lagos

Popular actor and content creator, Olayiwola Isaac, widely known as Layi Wasabi, has opened up about his past, revealing that despite studying law, he was once a notorious lawbreaker in his youth.

The 26-year-old entertainer shared this personal story during his presentation at a TEDx conference in Lagos, where he recounted his transformation from a rebellious youngster to a professional lawyer.

Reflecting on his journey, Wasabi recalled his brother’s humorous reaction when he decided to pursue law at the university. “Growing up, I was actually a lawbreaker, a notorious lawbreaker,” he admitted. “When my brother heard I had gained admission to study law, he jokingly said, ‘Not only will you now be a law-abiding person, you will be a custodian of the law. I hope the law is in safe hands.'”

Wasabi’s story highlights the contrast between his youthful defiance and his current role as a legal professional, offering insight into his personal growth and the unexpected paths life can take.
