LASG dedicated to fostering culturally rich environment, says Sanwo-Olu’s aide

The Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts, and Culture to Lagos Governor, Mr. Idris Aregbe, has said the State Government is dedicated to fostering a culturally rich environment that embraces art, culture, and the entertainment industry.
Aregbe said this on Friday at the “Art of Love for Lagos” organized by the Lgos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, in collaboration with the Office of the First Lady of Lagos State and Nike Art Gallery.
The event brought together art lovers, cultural enthusiasts, and international partners to celebrate the city’s vibrant creative scene.
Speaking at the event, Aregbe expressed gratitude to partners from America, China, Britain, Germany, and other nations for their support.

Aregbe reiterated the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration’s commitment to improving key sectors, including transportation, healthcare, entertainment, culture, and public safety, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for Lagos residents.
He also emphasised the importance of sustained efforts to position Lagos as an all-year-round cultural hub, moving beyond the traditional December festivities.
The Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture Dance Troupe also delivered a captivating performance, while guests were treated to an exhilarating Samba dance showcase and a spellbinding act by Mysterial Magician.
The highlight of the event was the visual art competition for tertiary students, which provided young artists with a platform to showcase their creativity and talent.

The attendees were encouraged to explore Lagos’s rich cultural heritage, including the newly commissioned John Randle Centre for History and Yoruba Culture.
The event also saw the participation of the Nigerian Female Artists Association, reinforcing the commitment to empowering local artists and fostering artistic innovation within the community.
It was a fusion of artistic expression, featuring performances from renowned artists such as Afiaamaka Arts, Spoken Word Poet, I.B. Quacke, and Visual Artist, Mr. Durojola.
