Tinubu seeks value addition for creative Industry

President Bola Tinubu has called for greater localisation of investments in Nigeria’s creative and digital economy to ensure more value generated by Nigerian talent remains in the country.
Tinubu in a post via his X account on Friday, said the federal government would push for increased production within Nigeria, stronger investment in local industries and infrastructure, and more jobs and opportunities for young Nigerians.
The President said Nigeria’s growing global cultural influence through Nollywood, Afrobeats, fashion and other creative industries must be converted into lasting economic benefits for Nigerians.
According to him, investments by global companies in sectors including film, entertainment, fibre optics and the digital economy should strengthen Nigeria’s local capacity rather than merely expand foreign business interests.
“I want more of the value created by Nigerian talent to remain in Nigeria. More production at home. Greater investment in our local industries and infrastructure. More opportunities and jobs for our young people,” Tinubu said.
He said the government had consistently made the case for greater localisation, including in its engagement with MultiChoice.
Tinubu noted that the government’s ongoing reforms were creating conditions for investment and growth, stressing that his responsibility was to ensure such investments translated into tangible opportunities for Nigerians.
“This is the purpose of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the President said.
