Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Hannah Ayorinde for winning the third season of the Eko Flavours cooking competition, beating more than 100 chefs to emerge champion.

The governor shared his congratulatory message on Instagram on Monday after the competition, organised by the Lagos State Government in partnership with Culinara Group, ended at the Fresh Food Hub, Idi-Oro, Mushin, Lagos.

The annual competition gives young chefs an opportunity to showcase their skills, build confidence and turn their passion for cooking into business opportunities. It features senior and junior categories.

Sanwo-Olu noted that the third season would be the last edition under his administration. He, however, said he was pleased to see young chefs improve their skills, start businesses and turn their passion into viable enterprises. He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting talent development in Lagos State’s creative industry.

The governor urged young people to pursue careers in areas they are passionate about, including food, technology, fashion and the creative arts.

Speaking at the grand finale, held at Amoke Gardens, Lekki, the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Abisola Olusanya, said the culinary industry offered economic opportunities beyond food preparation, including entrepreneurship, employment and tourism.

She said the competition, themed “Nothing is Waste”, brought together participants from different backgrounds to create unique culinary experiences and showed how collaboration across sectors could generate economic benefits.

Ayorinde received N5 million for winning the competition, while Jagila Colman, who came second, won N3 million. Moyin Fashina finished third and received N2 million. Ayorinde succeeds Agboye, who won the second season in 2025 and also received N5 million.
