Toyin Abraham makes unconventional entrance, attends movie exhibition with live goats

By Damilola Akinwale –

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham, made an unconventional entrance at the FilmOne Year-end Exhibition Showcase on Thursday, arriving with live goats as a promotional stunt for her movie, Bestie, ahead of its release on December 16, 2026.

The event, held in Lagos, Nigeria, is an annual gathering of industry leaders, exhibitors and some of Nollywood’s biggest stars to celebrate cinematic excellence, creativity and storytelling.

Clips from the event showed Abraham arriving with her crew and several live goats, which were led through the red-carpet area into the event space. The animals roamed freely before she eventually took them onto the stage.

The unusual entrance quickly gained traction online, with some describing it as creative and a bold statement of her claim to being the GOAT in the industry. Others, however, raised concerns that the animals’ presence and odour could cause discomfort for other guests, describing the stunt as unhygienic.

The event, themed “Screening the Future”, featured 14 movies lined up for exhibition, including Ramanava, Ghost Soldier, Jumanji: Open World, How to Rob a Bank, Loving Itohan, Sear Amyi, The Four, Bestie, The Cat in the Hat, Diane 3 and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

Abraham had previously embarked on several promotional stunts for Bestie, including hosting a gospel concert for fans, releasing the movie’s trailer and sharing behind-the-scenes moments. Her latest promotional stunt comes amid intense competition among filmmakers seeking to attract cinema audiences.

The star-studded event was attended by Funke Akindele, Bisola Aiyeola and Timini Egbuson. Irewole Olaniyan also attended as part of the crew promoting Akindele’s movie, The Four, ahead of its December release.
