Man recounts Christian genocide, IPOB faithful ordeal
One Jude Obinna Odirih from Akwu-Ukwu Idemiili South Local Government area in Anambra state, Nigeria has narrated what he and family faced in the captivity of Islamic extremists.
According to him, he fled Anambra to Lagos state when he was labeled a member of IPOB.
It must be noted that IPOB is a proscribed association who is known for its agitation to secede from Nigeria Federation and formed Republic of Biafra. Members are involved in many forms of attack on the citizens.
They were also involved in economic sabotage for forcefully asking all markets in Anambra to close on every Monday. Many killings have been attributed to their constant attack on individuals. Many people have been rendered homeless as a result of them setting houses ablaze. They have been named a terrorist group.
On his way, he got kidnapped alongside his whole family by Islamic extremists who dressed as Nigerian soldiers not realizing they were actually terrorists.
He revealed that at the place of their capture, a lot of individuals who were christians executed from time to time as they failed to pay ransom or renounced their faith.
He revealed that he managed to escape when the search from the Nigerian government was intensive with the use of helicopters.
Amid his lucky escape without the family, he does not know their fate and it has been the same
everywhere he goes.
On getting to Lagos, and staying for 6 months, he noted that he was declared wanted for being a member of IPOB.
He stated that most of his properties were destroyed by government actors as they had warned of Nigeria’s citizens not partaking in activities that may divide the country.
