Nigeria’s ambassador presents credentials to Israeli President Herzog
Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Israel, Ambassador Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, has formally assumed office after presenting her Letters of Credence to Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
The credential presentation took place on Monday during an official ceremony in Jerusalem, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry said the presentation of the Letters of Credence formally marked the commencement of Ambassador Ufochukwu’s diplomatic assignment and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Israel.
Speaking after the ceremony, Ufochukwu expressed her commitment to deepening cooperation between both countries and advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives during her tenure.
She said her mission would focus on expanding collaboration in trade and investment, agriculture, technology, security, innovation and cultural exchanges, while promoting stronger people-to-people relations for the mutual benefit of both nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed confidence that the ambassador’s appointment would further strengthen the strategic partnership between Nigeria and Israel and create new opportunities for enhanced bilateral cooperation and sustainable development.
