Oluremi Tinubu inaugurates APC women’s Tinubu Torchbearers platform
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, has inaugurated the Tinubu Torchbearers (TTB), a women-led grassroots mobilisation platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), aimed at promoting the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening support for President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking at the inauguration on Wednesday in Abuja, the First Lady said the platform would serve as a vehicle for communicating government policies, mobilising communities, encouraging civic participation and fostering national unity.
She described the initiative as a symbol of commitment, patriotism, service and the collective aspiration for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria, while emphasizing the critical role of women in national development.
According to her, women have consistently played a central role in building thriving societies, adding that the TTB would help bridge the gap between government programmes and citizens at the grassroots.
Senator Tinubu said President Tinubu assumed office with a commitment to reposition the country through reforms and strategic interventions in key sectors, including the economy, infrastructure, security, education and social investment.
She noted that the administration had taken steps to strengthen agriculture, support local industries, improve healthcare services, create jobs, attract investment and expand opportunities for Nigerians.
The First Lady urged members of the Tinubu Torchbearers to become ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Agenda by communicating government programmes effectively and responsibly to the public.
She stressed that sustainable development requires the active participation and cooperation of citizens, expressing hope that the movement would promote unity, progress and optimism across the country.
Representing the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, the party’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Benjamin Nwoye, said the initiative aligns with the aspirations of Nigerians who support the Renewed Hope Agenda.
