Osun 2026: Oyebamiji confident of APC victory in Governor Adeleke’s hometown

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed confidence that Ede, the hometown of Governor Ademola Adeleke, will deliver substantial votes for the party in the August 15 governorship election.

Speaking at the APC campaign rally in Ede on Tuesday, Oyebamiji said the party was expecting a “massive vote” from the town, expressing confidence that residents would back his candidacy because of his “Prosperity Agenda”.

“We are expecting a massive vote from Ede. We believe that no part of the state abhors development and, with our PROSPERITY Agenda, we are optimistic that the people of Ede will vote massively for APC and make me the governor on August 15,” he said.

The APC candidate urged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), keep them safe and use them to vote for the APC on election day, assuring residents that Ede would not regret supporting the party.

Former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello, also predicted that the voting pattern in Ede would surprise many observers despite the town being Governor Adeleke’s hometown.

Bello said Ede North ranked fourth in the APC’s recent membership registration exercise with more than 5,000 registered members, expressing confidence that the town would deliver the bulk of the votes needed to return Oyebamiji as governor.

“We don’t want anyone to put us into one corner; therefore, we must vote for Oyebamiji massively. Ede North came fourth with over 5,000 registered members, so we stand a better chance. If 50,000 votes come from Ede, we can boldly say we’ll get 45,000,” Bello said.
