The Oyo State Government has announced the postponement of all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) papers originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, the decision was made in alignment with the public holiday declared by the Federal Government to honour the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Bamidele Oyinloye, stated that the affected subjects—Mathematics and Pre-Vocational Studies—have been postponed until further notice.
Hon. Olayiwola urged students, parents, and stakeholders to take note of the adjustment and assured that all remaining examination papers scheduled from Wednesday, July 16, 2025, will proceed as planned.
He also expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding and cooperation during this period of national mourning.
The Commissioner reiterated the state government’s commitment to a smooth and credible conduct of the examination process.
Further updates on the rescheduled subjects are expected to be communicated by the Ministry in due course.
