PHOTOS: Faces at Nigeria’s 25th Democracy Day dinner in Aso Villa
President Bola Tinubu led Vice President Kashim Shettima and other distinguished Nigerians to celebrate the 25th anniversary of unbroken democratic governance in Nigeria on June 12, 2024, at the State House Banquet Hall.
The President hosted the dinner to celebrate some of the pro-democracy activists who are still alive while he honoured the memories of those who have passed on like Chief MKO Abiola, winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election and his wife, Kudirat.
Some of the children of Chief Abiola attended the dinner alongside Professor Bolaji Akinyemi, Chief Bisi Akande, Dr Amos Akingba, Dr Tunji Abayomi, Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), Mrs Ayo Obe, Hon. Abdul Oroh, George Mbah, Kunle Ajibade, Dare Babarinsa among some other pro-democracy heroes and heroines.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, lawmakers and Ministers were in attendance.
