Police foil robbery in Abuja estate, arrest two suspects

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers following a swift response to a distress call during a robbery incident at Royal Court Estate, Jahi II, Abuja.

According to a press release signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the incident occurred at about 3:20 a.m. on March 27, 2025, when officers from the Mabushi Division confronted the suspects in a gun duel. The police, using superior firepower, overpowered the assailants, who attempted to flee with gunshot wounds.

The ensuing chase led to the arrest of two suspects—Rabiu Jubril and Ibrahim Isa—both residents of Tipper Garage, Jahi.

The police recovered a cache of stolen items and weapons, including two locally made firearms and three suspected stolen vehicles: a black Toyota Matrix (Reg. No. NBS 348 CP), a black Toyota Venza (Reg. No. ABJ 105 AV), and a grey Lexus IS350 (Reg. No. RSH 295 CB).

Other items recovered include two MacBook Pro laptops, one Lenovo laptop, one iPad, a PS4 gaming console, a Canon IP1224 camera, and a drone camera.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.

Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ajao S. Adewale, psc, mnips, commended the officers for their bravery and urged residents to take proactive security measures.

He specifically advised vehicle owners to install tracking devices, emphasizing their importance in aiding recovery efforts in cases of theft or robbery.
