Remo Stars one win from historic NPFL title

Remo Stars are just one victory away from clinching their first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, following Rivers United’s 2-0 defeat to Kano Pillars on Friday in Kano.

With a seven-point lead at the top and only 12 points left to play for, Remo Stars will be crowned champions if they defeat Niger Tornadoes in their next fixture — a potential title-decider at home.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars dashed Rivers United’s title hopes. Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa opened the scoring in the 64th minute, while Rabiu Ali sealed the win with a penalty in the 75th minute.

Attention now turns to Ikenne, where Remo Stars have the chance to complete their fairytale season with a historic victory that would etch their name into the NPFL record books.
