Tinubu commissions TETFund projects, CNG infrastructure nationwide

President Bola Tinubu on Friday commissioned a series of tertiary education and compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure projects across Nigeria as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration.

The projects, spread across several states, were delivered under the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF) as part of the Federal Government’s drive to improve education infrastructure and expand clean energy transportation.

In the education sector, the President inaugurated new tertiary institution projects across Nasarawa, Kaduna, Jigawa and Bauchi states.

At the Nasarawa State College of Education, Akwanga, Tinubu commissioned a newly constructed School of Science Complex designed to strengthen science teacher training in the state.

At the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, he inaugurated the remodelled Senate Building and a new Biodiversity and Conservation Centre aimed at improving academic administration and environmental research capacity within the institution.

The President also commissioned a new classroom complex at Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, Jigawa State, under the TETFund 2024 Special High Impact Intervention.

Similarly, a newly constructed students’ hostel at Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau Campus, Bauchi State, was inaugurated to ease accommodation challenges and support increasing student enrolment.

Speaking during the commissioning, Tinubu described tertiary institutions as central to the government’s strategy for closing the country’s skills gap and improving learning outcomes.

“When you build a classroom, you build a generation,” the President said, adding that investments in colleges of education, polytechnics and universities would shape the quality of education in the country for decades.
