President Bola Tinubu has congratulated John Dara, Chairman of African Development Investment Limited and former presidential candidate of the Alliance of Social Democrats (ASD), on his 70th birthday.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu celebrated Mr. Dara’s achievements as a management consultant, pastor, political reformer, and advocate for national unity and development.
Tinubu acknowledged Dara’s longstanding involvement in Nigeria’s political evolution, highlighting his role as personal assistant to former Lagos State Governor, Chief Michael Otedola, and his participation in several landmark national initiatives.
These include the 1988 Constituent Assembly, the Vision 2010 Committee, the 2005 National Political Reform Conference, and the 2014 National Conference.
The President praised Dara’s contributions to national discourse on critical issues such as restructuring, federalism, resource control, and security, describing him as a courageous and intellectual force committed to the ideals of democracy, industrialisation, and good governance.
“Mr. Dara’s enduring commitment to national transformation through democratic ideals and economic growth reflects his strong belief in Nigeria’s future,” the statement read.
“His advocacy for reform and active participation in shaping national policy over the decades has left an indelible mark on our democratic journey.”
President Tinubu expressed his best wishes for Dara’s continued health, strength, and fulfilment, adding that his dedication remains a source of inspiration.
