Tinubu mourns APC chieftain, AVM Terry Okorodudu
By Kunle Sanni –
President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Terry O. Okorodudu, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, who died on September 9 at the age of 70.
In a condolence message to the Delta State Government, the APC, and the Okorodudu family, the President described the late party leader as both a political ally and a patriot who served Nigeria with distinction in the military and in politics.
“AVM Okorodudu was my political ally for many years. He rose to the peak of his career and mentored countless officers. He worked diligently and selflessly for our country. I pray that Almighty God will grant his soul eternal rest and comfort his family,” Tinubu said.
Okorodudu, who joined the Nigerian Air Force in 1976, had a distinguished military career, including serving as Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Moscow between 2006 and 2009. He also pioneered Aeronautical Engineering and Technical Services Limited, a subsidiary of the Air Force, and chaired the Board of Trustees of Harry’s Friends Club, a think tank for good governance.
He was also a member of the security committee of Tinubu’s 2023 Presidential Campaign Council and played a key role in strengthening the APC’s structure in Delta State and beyond.
The President extended his condolences to Okorodudu’s wife, children, associates, and friends.
