Tinubu to inaugurate 81km Abuja-Kaduna highway section — Presidency

President Bola Tinubu is expected to inaugurate an 81-kilometre section of the Abuja-Kaduna highway on Saturday as the All Progressives Congress (APC) launches its presidential campaign for the 2027 general election in Kaduna State.
The road section, constructed with continuously reinforced concrete pavement and fitted with streetlights, is part of the Federal Government’s 4,084-kilometre road development programme in the North-West.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, disclosed the project details in a post on his verified X handle on Friday, alongside updates on other federal road and rail projects in the region.
According to Onanuga, the administration has completed 348 kilometres of inherited and newly initiated road projects across the North-West, while another 1,811 kilometres are at various stages of construction.
He said 118 kilometres of Lot 1 of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano highway had been completed, including the 81-kilometre section scheduled for inauguration.
Another 164 kilometres of Lot 2 of the highway have also been completed using reinforced concrete pavement, he added.
Onanuga listed the 77-kilometre Kaduna-Pambeguwa road among completed projects expected to be inaugurated by Tinubu during the APC campaign rally in Jos, Plateau State.
The presidential aide also highlighted progress on the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, with the 120-kilometre dual carriageway section in Sokoto State reportedly 60 per cent complete, while the 254-kilometre section in Kebbi State had reached 40 per cent completion.
