BREAKING: ‘Don’t let my opponents lie to you — fuel subsidy is in the past,’ Tinubu tells Nigerians

President Bola Tinubu has told Nigerians not to believe opposition parties’ criticisms of his administration’s fuel subsidy removal, declaring that “fuel subsidy is in the past” and promising a better tomorrow.
Tinubu spoke on Saturday at the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign for the 2027 general election in Kaduna State.
Tinubu, who defended his administration’s policies, said opposition parties were angry because they had nothing to offer Nigerians.
“Don’t let them lie to you. What is in the past is in the past. Fuel subsidy is in the past,” the President said.
He assured Nigerians that his administration was committed to delivering a better future, despite criticisms of its policies.
“The promise from me is a better tomorrow,” he said.
Tinubu also commended APC governors for what he described as development strides in their respective states, noting that they were paying workers’ salaries.
“I salute all our governors. I can see the development strides in their states. They are paying salaries,” he said.
The President urged Nigerians to remain hopeful about the future as the ruling party formally commenced its campaign for the 2027 presidential election.
