Tinubu’s reforms turning Nigerian firms into global brands, says Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has said reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration are helping Nigerian companies expand their operations and compete on the global stage.

Shettima made the statement on Monday in Abuja when he received a delegation from Nigerian fintech company Flutterwave, led by its Chief Executive Officer and co-founder, Olugbenga Agboola.

The Vice President cited Flutterwave, Moniepoint and Andela as examples of indigenous companies leveraging the gains of the administration’s economic reforms to scale their businesses internationally.

Shettima assured Flutterwave of the Federal Government’s continued support, stressing the need to strengthen and promote Nigerian-owned businesses.

“We have to support and promote our own. We have to make our companies stronger,” he said.

He commended Flutterwave for building what he described as one of Africa’s most compelling technology success stories from Nigeria.

According to him, the company’s achievement was particularly significant because it had developed an indigenous solution to address African challenges in digital payments and other services.

Earlier, Agboola said Flutterwave’s goal was to achieve massive growth in the coming years and maintain its position as a leading payments and banking technology company in Africa and globally.
