Why I distributed free JAMB forms, launched additional bus ride for my constituents – Hon. Femi Saheed

The lawmaker representing Kosofe 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Obafemi Saheed, on Thursday said he distributed free 500 Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) to his constituents to advance the purpose of education in the constituency.

Saheed made this assertion at the 3rd Edition of the Free JAMB Forms Distribution Exercise in Agiliti-Mile 12 area of Lagos.

The lawmaker stated that education is the best form of empowerment, adding that if the human is empowered the society would be better for all.

He explained that he gave out the forms to equip his constituents so that they could be able to compete favourably among their peers in the society.

The Lawmaker added that the beneficiaries were selected based on JAMB criteria and that they met the requirements.

He added that those who had benefited from the previous editions of the Free JAMB forms were in different universities across the country, adding that some had excelled in their chosen courses.

Saheed stated that the free JAMB exercise was a support for the students to excel in life, adding that he had awarded scholarships to students who had excelled as trained lawyers at LASU.

” We need good Medical Doctors in our hospitals. Without education, we can’t get them. We need good Engineers, Information and Communications Technology experts, and automobile engineers who would build cars using electricity. This is why I am investing in these young ones now. There is nothing in the world that is not possible. 

” Without education, we cannot achieve greatness and I am calling on all the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the Constituency out there in the future”, he added. 

” We are also launching a long marcopollo bus in addition to the other buses we have already that have been commuting our students to school for the past 4years. The beneficiaries of these JAMB forms will take a ride to the registration centre today with the buses “, said Saheed.

He disclosed that the state government would be establishing Lagos State University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, adding that more medical doctors would be produced from the institution yearly.

He advised the students to study hard for their jamb examination, saying it is only through education they could achieve greater things in life.

Saheed urged the students to be courageous so as to excel in life adding that they should be fearless in achieving success. 

One of the parents of the beneficiaries, Timothy Olalekan, thanked the lawmaker for his contributions to the development of the constituency, adding that he is a trustworthy politician.

Another parent, Mrs Mojisola  Azeez, said she was happy her son was part of the beneficiaries because she had no money to purchase the form for him.

Azeez eulogised the lawmaker for the kind gesture.
