Oyo APC confident of victory in 2027, says Alli

…pushes for unity ahead polls

The consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has expressed confidence that the party will reclaim power in the state in 2027, citing ongoing reconciliation efforts and support from President Bola Tinubu as key drivers of its prospects.

Alli spoke on Saturday after joining a delegation of Oyo APC leaders on a visit to the President at his residence in Lagos, where party stakeholders sought continued backing ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.

He said the APC had resolved most of its internal disagreements and was building unity across its ranks to strengthen its chances at the polls.

“I am very confident that by the grace of God, come May 29, 2027, APC will reclaim government in Oyo State,” Alli said.

According to him, the party’s renewed cohesion, combined with backing from the President and senior party leaders, has placed it on a stronger electoral footing.

“With the support of our father, the President, and our leaders who are here, we are sure of victory by the grace of God,” he added.

Alli also pointed to his personal credentials—integrity, experience and competence—as part of what he believes strengthens his candidacy, while noting that the party retains a wide base of influential figures across the state.

He said efforts had been made to reconcile aspirants and stakeholders even before the party primaries to reduce post-election tensions and encourage unity.
