Nigeria will overcome security challenges, says Oyintiloye
By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo —
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its current security challenges, urging citizens to continue supporting the Federal Government and security agencies in their efforts to restore peace across the country.
Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye noted that the Federal Government was intensifying efforts to tackle all forms of criminality and ensure the safety of lives and property nationwide.
He said the administration was deeply concerned about the prevailing security situation and was taking decisive measures to end insecurity across the country.
The former lawmaker cited President Bola Tinubu’s Democracy Day address, in which he declared zero tolerance for terrorists and their collaborators, as evidence of the government’s determination to restore peace and security.
According to him, the President’s ultimatum to bandits, kidnappers and sponsors of terrorism to surrender or face the full weight of the law shows that their days are numbered.
Oyintiloye sympathised with families affected by insecurity, particularly victims of abductions and terrorist attacks, saying the government shared their pain and remained committed to securing the release of those held captive.
He said, “Intelligence and security operatives are actively working to identify, apprehend and prosecute those responsible for acts of violence. No criminal element will be allowed to undermine the peace and stability of the nation. The government is doing everything within its power to secure the release of abducted victims and end the senseless killings across the country”.
Oyintiloye urged citizens to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and useful information, and continue to pray for peace, unity and progress in the country.
