Shettima arrives Calabar for APC presidential campaign rally

Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Monday arrived in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally scheduled to hold on Monday.

Shettima’s visit comes as the ruling party intensifies its mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election, with the rally expected to attract party leaders, supporters and other stakeholders from across the state.

Cross River is also a key part of President Bola Tinubu’s infrastructure development agenda, particularly the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.

The 700-kilometre coastal road is designed to connect Lagos with several states along Nigeria’s coastline, improve transportation, facilitate trade and create economic opportunities.

The project is also expected to enhance access to tourist destinations and stimulate economic activities across the coastal communities.
