Osun APC backs Adeleke on Tinubu’s re-election, seeks inclusion of party leaders

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its readiness to work with Governor Ademola Adeleke towards the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the January 16, 2027 presidential election.

The party, however, urged the governor to ensure the inclusion of all relevant stakeholders, particularly APC leaders and members, in the effort to achieve the desired goal.

The state APC chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, following a meeting of the party’s State Working Committee on Wednesday, where members commended Adeleke’s decision to support Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

Lawal said the party had resolved to work resolutely and vigorously for Tinubu’s re-election on the platform of the APC.

“It was also resolved that the Osun State chapter of the APC should continue to work and mobilise the electorate for all the candidates of the party for the National Assembly and the State House of Assembly in the forthcoming elections,” the statement read.

It added that the party would set up a campaign council to coordinate campaigns for its National Assembly and House of Assembly candidates.

The statement further said party structures at all levels would be deployed to drive activities for the forthcoming elections.

It added that the meeting appreciated the efforts of the party’s leaders in the state towards resolving the crisis within the APC in the overall interest of the party.
