Nigeria international Victor Osimhen celebrated the birth of his second child, Liora Audrey, by scoring in Galatasaray’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig on Friday night.
The Super Eagles striker continued his impressive scoring form, finding the net for the third consecutive match as Galatasaray secured a convincing away win at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium.
His compatriot and Super Eagles teammate, Chidozie Awaziem, featured for Konyaspor and played the entire 90 minutes.
Osimhen opened the scoring in the 12th minute, rising to head home Gabriel Sara’s cross and give the visitors an early lead, less than 24 hours after announcing the birth of his daughter.
The goal took his tally to nine in eight league appearances this season, further underlining his importance to the Turkish champions.
Galatasaray maintained their dominance, with Yunus Akgün doubling their advantage in the 28th minute before Aleksey Batrakov extended the lead in the 49th minute. Rafael Leão completed the rout from the penalty spot in the 55th minute as the visitors cruised to a comfortable victory.
The result takes Galatasaray to 25 points, extending their lead over Amed Sportif, who are scheduled to host Eyüpspor on Sunday.
Osimhen had remained in Istanbul on Thursday following the announcement of his daughter’s birth but travelled separately to Konya on Friday to join his teammates for the encounter.
