El Clásico: Real Madrid stun Barcelona 2-1 with late Mbappé winner

Real Madrid stunned Barcelona 2-1 in El Clásico on Sunday, with Kylian Mbappé scoring a late winner to secure victory and end the Catalan club’s perfect start to the domestic league season.

Mbappé opened the scoring in the 41st minute after a failed clearance by a Barcelona defender allowed the ball to fall into his path before he found the net.

Barcelona responded in the second half, with captain Raphinha restoring parity in the 61st minute to give the hosts hope of maintaining their unbeaten run.

However, Mbappé struck again in the 87th minute following a superb assist from substitute Eduardo Camavinga to seal all three points for Real Madrid and strengthen their position in the La Liga title race.

The defeat was a major setback for Barcelona, who had been hoping to extend their winning run to 10 league matches, a feat no team had achieved in the competition this season.

Real Madrid’s victory also boosted their title ambitions as they seek to strengthen their position among the leading contenders in the league.
