The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, Governor Ademola Adeleke, APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, and other political leaders on Saturday inaugurated a 10,000-member door-to-door canvassing team for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election ahead of the 2027 general election.

The inauguration, held at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, attracted political leaders across party lines, including members of the Adeleke administration and representatives of the Niger Delta political bloc.

Oyetola, who was represented by the 2026 Osun APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, described the initiative as a demonstration of commitment to Tinubu’s continuity agenda. He commended High Chief Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for supporting the initiative and his nationwide advocacy for the president’s re-election.

Addressing the canvassers, Oyetola said, “I charge you to approach this assignment with sincerity, discipline and an unwavering commitment to the cause. Shun hypocrisy, political pretence and complacency.”

Governor Adeleke, who was represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, urged members of the Accord Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his supporters to put past disagreements behind them and unite to deliver for Tinubu.

The APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, highlighted the Tinubu administration’s achievements, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), infrastructure development, increased allocations and improvements in the economy. The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi, urged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), saying Osun should deliver two million votes for the President, irrespective of political affiliation.

Also speaking, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Dr Kestin Pondi, who represented Tompolo, announced the donation of 30 campaign vehicles equipped with speakers, generators and amplifiers to support the movement’s activities in Osun.

“We believe in the man’s reformation agenda, and we believe that he is what Nigeria needs at this point in time. Our economy is stable. People are now coming to invest in Nigeria, as against when people were withdrawing their money from the country before he assumed office. We know that you are already going to vote for the man who is moving Nigeria forward,” Pondi said.
