PHOTO NEWS: Multi-billion naira assets linked to former AGF Malami

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday ordered the final forfeiture of 48 multi-billion naira properties linked to former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to the Federal Government.

The assets include Rayhaan University, Rayhaan Radio, hotels, factories, commercial buildings and landed properties in Abuja, Kebbi and Kano states.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had sought the forfeiture of the properties, arguing that they were reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.

In its judgment, the court held that the commission had established its case and that the respondents failed to provide evidence showing the assets were acquired with funds from legitimate sources. Photo: EFCC.
