The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and other party leaders have called on the party faithful to be united ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They made the call on Tuesday at an interfaith prayer session organised for APC candidates at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu urged APC candidates and supporters to trust in God’s guidance, saying the party was seeking divine intervention for the success of its candidates and the peaceful conduct of the elections.
The governor prayed for the success of the APC presidential candidate, the Lagos governorship candidate and other candidates contesting the National Assembly and Lagos State House of Assembly elections.
He expressed confidence that Lagosians would support the party’s candidates and prayed that God would grant them victory at the polls.
In his remarks, Hamzat said the gathering provided an opportunity for the party to commit its candidates and the electoral process to God.
He prayed for peaceful elections without clashes, accidents or loss of lives, while expressing confidence that God would grant the party victory.
Hamzat also expressed confidence in the success of APC candidates contesting the three senatorial seats, 24 House of Representatives seats and 40 Lagos State House of Assembly seats.
