Tinubu mourns ex-Delta governor Uduaghan

President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the family of former Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, who died at the age of 71.
Tinubu, in a condolence message issued on Monday, sympathised with the government and people of Delta State, describing the late former governor as a public servant whose leadership was devoted to the development of the state and service to Nigeria.
Uduaghan, who governed Delta State from 2007 to 2015, previously served as commissioner for health and secretary to the state government before being elected governor.
Tinubu said Uduaghan’s administration pursued initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, healthcare delivery and the welfare of residents.
The President noted that the former governor remained active in Delta State’s political and socio-economic affairs after leaving office, contributing to democratic governance and public service.
“His passing is a great loss to his family, his community, Delta State, and the nation at large,” the President said.
Tinubu urged the people of Delta State to draw strength from Uduaghan’s years of service and the relationships he built across Nigeria’s political and social landscape.
The President, who extended condolences on behalf of his family, the Federal Government and the Nigerian people, also sympathised with the deceased’s wife, Roli; his children; his cousin and former Delta State Governor, James Ibori; as well as his friends and political associates.
