2027: ‘Our governors are paying salaries regularly’ — Tinubu urges APC votes across board

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates at all levels in the 2027 general election, saying the party’s governors are working hard and paying workers’ salaries regularly.

Tinubu made the appeal on Saturday at the flag-off of the APC presidential campaign at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna State, where he sought a second term in office.

“I salute all our governors. Today, across the 36 states, I can witness the developmental strides they are making, including paying salaries regularly,” the President said.

He called on voters to support APC candidates in governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and state House of Assembly elections, alongside his re-election bid.

“It is a promise: come January 16, 2027, you must go out massively to re-elect me. APC all the way!” Tinubu said.

“APC for our governors! APC for our senators! APC for our honourable members of the House of Representatives and all Houses of Assembly!” he added.

The President thanked Kaduna residents for their support in the 2023 election, saying he had returned to seek their mandate for another four years to pursue what he described as prosperity, continuity, progress and national development.

Tinubu also dismissed opposition criticism of his administration’s handling of hunger and poverty, accusing rival parties of contributing to the challenges his government was working to address.

“I hear my opponents talking about hunger and poverty. Who created it? They did! They created the hunger, and they created the poverty. We are the ones working to eradicate it,” he said.
