Tinubu urges Nigerians to unite for peace, security

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to work together to strengthen national unity, improve security and accelerate the country’s development, saying the nation’s diversity should be a source of collective strength.

Tinubu made the call while speaking with State House correspondents in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where he is performing Umrah, the lesser Hajj.

The President said Nigeria’s prospects for peace, security and prosperity depended on its ability to harness the strengths of its diverse population and pursue shared national aspirations.

“Our strength is our diversity, and we continue to build on that for the prospect and security of the country,” he said.

Tinubu also spoke about the spiritual dimension of his visit, highlighting the importance of nurturing the mind and spirit through the pilgrimage.

“And we are giving it to our minds and our spirits in every way possible,” he added.

The President was accompanied during the interaction by Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, among other dignitaries.

Tinubu arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday night through the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, where he was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, and Saudi Arabia’s Head of Royal Protocol, Ahmad bin Thafir.
