Tinubu departs Abuja for Makkah
President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah and pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity and stability.
Tinubu is also expected to seek divine guidance and blessings for the country and its people during the Islamic pilgrimage.
Before departing, the President was scheduled to commission equipment acquired by the Nigerian Air Force for its operations at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Wednesday, Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the spiritual exercise.
Umrah is a voluntary Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year.
