Accord accuses APC of vandalising Adeleke’s projects in Osun

The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of allegedly orchestrating acts of vandalism against public infrastructure executed by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke in a bid to discredit the government ahead of the governorship election.

In a statement issued on Friday by its chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, the party claimed it had received credible reports indicating a pattern of vandalism targeting government projects across the state.

“Having failed to match the governor’s impressive record of performance, these elements seem determined to destroy the very projects that are transforming communities across the state in order to create a false impression of government failure,” he said.

Akande called on security agencies to investigate the incidents, identify those responsible regardless of their political affiliation, and ensure they are prosecuted in accordance with the law.

He also urged residents, community leaders, youth groups and other stakeholders to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities around government projects to security agencies.

According to the party, the Adeleke administration has delivered unprecedented infrastructure across the state, insisting that no amount of politically motivated vandalism would erase the government’s achievements or derail its commitment to building a more prosperous and secure Osun.

Akande said the party would ensure proper surveillance of government projects by setting up a monitoring team, adding that the Ministry of Works had commenced an inspection of the affected site to determine the level of sabotage.

He urged residents to protect public assets from those seeking to sacrifice public interest for political gain.
