North will give Tinubu more votes than South-West in 2027, Yari says

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, has said northern Nigeria will secure more votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election than the entire South-West region.
Yari made the declaration on Thursday at the APC presidential campaign rally in Ekiti State, where he urged residents to support Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
He said the North had reasons to support the President, recalling Tinubu’s role in supporting northern politicians who had emerged as national leaders on three occasions.
“We in northern Nigeria, Bola is more of us than you in Ekiti, than you in Ondo, than you in Oyo, than you in Osun, than you in Lagos,” Yari said.
“And a good reason. Bola Ahmed supported our children, supported our people to become number one citizens in this country up to three times.”
The former Zamfara State governor said northern political leaders were committed to Tinubu’s re-election and would mobilise support for him across the country.
“We in the North, we are ready for Asiwaju 2027, and we are going to deliver him from A to Z,” he added.
Yari also challenged Ekiti residents to improve on the support they gave Tinubu during the 2022 presidential election, when, according to him, the state delivered 80 per cent of its votes to the APC candidate.
