Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated Muslim faithful in the state on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.
Adeleke, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, acknowledged the devotion and discipline demonstrated during the fasting period, noting that Ramadan represents not only abstinence but also commitment to compassion, social justice and community service.
The governor assured the Muslim community that his administration remains attentive to their aspirations, values their contributions, and will continue to protect their rights, support their institutions, as well as ensure fair inclusion in governance and development initiatives.
He said Osun, under his leadership, would remain a state where religious harmony is preserved and no group feels marginalised, assuring that government policies and programmes would reflect equity, sensitivity and respect for all faiths.
Adeleke further stated that the lessons of Ramadan are vital to sustaining peace in the state, urging Muslims to uphold the virtues beyond the fasting period and continue to play active roles in strengthening peace and social cohesion across communities.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-focused governance, grassroots engagement and expanded opportunities, with emphasis on improving welfare, infrastructure and economic prospects for citizens.
Adeleke also urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr to pray for Osun local governments against political saboteurs and power mongers, while encouraging peaceful celebration and support for the less privileged.
“As we celebrate this sacred festival, I assure our Muslim brothers and sisters that your government stands with you, listens to you, and works for you accordingly,” the governor stated.
