Akoko-Edo LG begins infrastructure assessment, plans renovation of key facilities

The Akoko-Edo Local Government Council in Edo State has commenced an assessment of government infrastructure across its 10 wards as part of plans to renovate, reconstruct and upgrade critical public facilities.

The Chairman of the council, Hon. Robert Akande Olumole, who led the inspection, said the exercise was aimed at identifying priority projects ahead of his administration’s 100 days in office.

Representing the chairman at Ekor Primary School, after Ibillo, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Benedict Dada Obayemi, said the administration was committed to delivering life-touching projects across communities in line with its campaign promises.

The assessment covered the Ekpedo Gully site in Ward Nine, where plans have been concluded for the construction of a two-box culvert with side drains, as well as another box culvert on Oloruntobi Access Road.

At Ekpe in Ward Three, the chairman directed the renovation of the Primary Healthcare Centre and staff quarters, while the construction of a perimeter fence and two gates was approved for Ereshia Primary School in Makeke.

In Ososo, Ward 10, the council also plans to renovate the Primary Healthcare Centre, address structural defects and replace obsolete and non-functional medical equipment.

The administration has also intensified ongoing road construction works in Ogugu and adjoining communities as part of efforts to improve infrastructure and living conditions across the local government area.
